This will be my attempt to share and archive my experiences in New Zealand. I will be traveling with a backpack, day-pack, and my travel guitar. My journey begins in Auckland, NZ's largest city, and will continue south most likely. Hostels, wwoof hosts (farmers), and CouchSurfer's will be my preferred means of shelter. Cheers!
Hello Henry! There were indeed sheep dogs. That is a great question because I wish I mentioned them earlier. They were fascinating creatures. So obedient and well trained. The dogs are essential to the farmer's work and have a much different life then your average house pet. In fact it seems like the sheep dogs do most of the work moving and controlling the herds of sheep and cattle through commands like "come behind." This would let the dogs know that there are some cattle or sheep that are falling behind and need to be chased back into the herd.
Are there sheep dogs?
